clint bowyer wins a rain shortened michigan race, with harvick in second and kurt busch in third to bring home a 1-2-3 sweep for stewart haus. good job guys.
This is a site that early in the week opens a thread for that weekend's racing. Also has weather delay reports etc. Pretty handy site for info in a rush.
I have YoutubeTV which includes NBCSN (And local channels).. I'm very happy with it. For $35 a month, the only thing I kinda miss are the Discovery and History channels, but.. Those haven't been all that great recently anyway.
Beats the heck out of that $80 I was paying a month for cable. And it's full 4k.. Watching the Super Bowl and Hockey playoffs on it this year was pretty good.
And, for years.. Up until 2004(?) or so.. Mothers Day was off limits. They had run one race on Mothers Day in the past, I think it was actually The Winston in '86 at Atlanta.. And it was so poorly attended that they swore off the day.
I wish they'd drop segment racing on the road courses. That really messes up potential strategies. Truex's crew chief really okie doked the 4 car. lol That was pretty good. Definitely need more road courses.
jonas, i think that was the reason stage racing was instituted in the first place, to shake up the potential strategies. road courses are no different than circle tracks, you just have another element to consider. its not much dfferent than say the plate races. you have to decide are you going after stage points, or the race win. or do you think you have a strategy where you can get a stage win AND the race win. and i do agree that truex and his crew suckering harvicks team to pit when they did was a great move. and it wasnt just the four team either, they got the fourteen team as well.
this is all part of the strategy of racing. and it makes for interesting issues like the one that played out yesterday.
just like back when i was racing, we would try to burn down the other fuel altereds we ran against. we ran straight alcohol, where as others ran nitromethane. the result was they heated up faster than we did, and that gave us a bit of an advantage at the launch, and sometimes at the top end.
