Now that's the way to start a season.

Elliott took out Blaney and Kyle slips through for the win.

Normally, i'd be calling foul and that Elliott was dirty.. But.. I really don't think that was a dirty move. Blaney was fading.. You could see his brakes basically on fire (See more on this later on here) and Elliott was driving balls to the wall no question. There was no real 'fault' to that one. They just came together. You don't blame the acorn when it falls and hits you on the head. That's my view of this one.

Now.. Brakes. That looked like Martinsville of the mid 90's last night.

We haven't seen brakes that abused since.. Ok.. i can't come up with anything funny here. But while we've seen front rotors glowing fairly commonly.. This is the first time I can remember seeing ALL 4 glowing pretty consistently.

The type of driver who is going to succeed this year with the low downforce is going to be the one who can take care of his equipment.. Your Harvicks, your Hamlins.. or.. The ones who just don't use the brakes, like your Kyle Busch.

I was concerned about starting the year at a road course, but.. Thumbs up. I liked it.

Ok.. got one.. Not great, but.. I haven't seen brakes like that since Joe Theismann's leg.

It was a fun and exciting ending. Didn't seem to be deliberate by Chase. I liked how Kyle was smart enough as usual to be just in the right place at the end.

If it were a regular points race, I don't know if Chase makes that move. As it was the Clash, all bets are off.

Yeah. He does. Playoff Points, he'd probably already be locked in, so.. Finishing second would do nothing for him.

The 'new' points system rewards going all out for the win. So, yes.. No difference I don't think.

It's conjecture for both of us, but I don't think he does it to Blaney. Kyle Busch? Oh yeah.

48 and 24 on the front row of the Great American Race Sunday.

Seems like old times, doesn't it?

(just new faces)

The 23 is way up there. So is the 99 (Suarez)

We'll see where they wind up.. The scary part is..

The 47 is way up there, too.. That's scary.

Chase is around 12th, Larson around 15th

I've got to watch the race tonight.. I've got it DVRed.. Didn't get to watch it last night

Larson is 13th, actually.

Bell and Wallace are 5th and 6th.. Those are somewhat surprising. Toyotas were decently towards the end. Outside of that.. Everyone's about where you'd expect.

Truck races at Daytona are crazy. They can't even get a lap in without a wreck.
