Indeed Leadfoot,. If memory serves, they actually had the (blue tarp ) over his car on his last one , took them some time to get him out. Park had a lot of heart.
The CoT lasted until 2016, same year that Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. retired, my last two drivers.
Then NASCAR's first brush with "wokeness" in 2015 stirred a backlash over the Confederate Battle Flag. In 2020 they went full woke with NOOSEGATE. And I stopped watching permanently after that.

I hate the Confederate flag, so if a sport wants to get rid of it, good for them.

Park had to be kicked out of the cars. Remember, they did the driver swap between him and Jeff Green.. RCR and DEI.
He left cup and went to trucks, where he took a near championship team and was only able to run 9th with it.
Park was a fine driver.. He should not have come back after the Darlington incident. That was one where he should have just counted his blessings to be alive. Freak accident, not his fault.. But..

CoT only lasted until 2012
From 2013 to 2021, it was the Gen6 car. Many of the safety features were carried over, but things such as the wing were removed for a traditional spoiler. And, honestly, it was the same car with a different body.
The next gen car (Gen7) that we've started with this year.. One thing I've noticed.. The foam seems to be gone from the door rails. Kinda surprised at that. You don't often see safety things removed..
