exactly. i think he just died out. He went all out in the first half of the season, and he just collapsed. Plus i think he forgot that once the chase starts, the Championship is anyones, to take. Jimmie had a great strategy all season. Finish and do well for the races and when the chase starts, he just blew the competition away.
I'm not a J.J. fan by any means but he employs the same strategy that Earnhardt Sr. did; rabid consistency. And with that kind of attitude small mistakes, mishaps, DNFs by other teams suddenly become huge.
