If you want excitement watch IRL or F1. NASCAR races are too freaking long.

I just can't get into the cart or kart, hmm I know go-kart is with a k, anyways, series at all. I went to a race at CA Speedway and to the Long Beach Grand Prix twice, never so bored in my life! I literally dozed off both times I went to the LBGP. I had ants in the pants like a kid on a family road trip.

I like the loud throaty engine of a NASCAR not the high pitch whine of the carts/karts. I'm a muscle car girl, always have been. Glad you do like a type of racing though.

If you want to really feel racing, stand next to the k-rail at an NHRA race. That is one hell of a machine, holy moly...

Sticking to my moniker.

Same here! Love that husky sound.

That has got to be awesome to stand next too. We were hoping to head down to Gainesville but I have friends coming in from out of town that weekend. So we are going to try to make it to Atlanta for the finals that Sunday. With all of this NHRA talk I really need a NHRA fix right now and to try out my new camera. lol

I liked Nascar when they drove stock cars---you know, actual Chevy Impalas and Ford Galaxys. And the drivers wore T-shirts and smoked cigarettes while they raced.

Now the cars are pure race cars with no more relationship to actual Chevys and Fords than a F1 car has. And the drivers look like pansies in their "colorful" jumpsuits. And it's all so corporate--no grit and soul. I used to like Nascar, now I despise it.

The problem with NASCAR is that there's no sense of competition. Even the last place driver is still getting paid big money especially from their sponsors. It disgusts me when they are pleased that other drivers have won. I was watching one driver congratulate Jimmie Johnson for winning so much. I would be mad if I didn't win or placed low. Back in the day you could be hopeful that you would see a terrible crash, and now even if they crash they rarely flip and most times the cars are still drivable. I want some danger involved, nowadays there's no danger or risks. F1 on the other hand rules. Its so much more technical and they have a sense of competitiveness.

-----" and most times the cars are still driveable"

Must not have watched JR demolishing cars at Daytona.

"I want some danger involved"

go watch the christians and the lions in movies

After #3 got killed, the object is to remove as much---danger--to the driver as possible.

This is good, I don't need to see broken bones or guys killed to enjoy an action sport whether it is football or NASCAR

Perhaps Iraq, Darfur, or some other region could satisfy your taste for danger. And who knows if you're lucky you may get to compete for your own life.

It maybe technical but I don't believe in slowing down while your in the lead to let your team mate win the race. That is not competitiveness!
