As the title suggested, anyone else fascinated by Group B rally? Unfortunately it's been banned in 1987 because it was getting to dangerous... Anyhow, here is a video of Group B.

I remember Group B and they were beasts, but things weren't helped by woeful crowd control and stupid spectators.

That would never fly here in the US. Our fellow citizens who suck the life out of anything they look down their noses at would force through laws requiring catch fences be built all along the rally route, spectators would have to sign releases, and then some promoter would deem themselves the owner of the event and start charging admission to stand along the route watching the cars go by.

But those cars were way too cool!!! Thanks for posting.

Actually there is rallying in the US, sanctioned by either Rally America or NASA ( no, not the aerospace group). I used to be pretty involved on the volunteer (worker) side of it , along with my wife, and my daughter competed as a co-driver for a bit. If you like getting REAL involved, REAL close to some unbelievably talented folks, rally can't be beat.
But, remember, there are no vendors, no bathrooms, no amenities but what you bring when you go out in the woods. Takes a whole different mindset to follow rally.
