How about that? I was really upset when Harvick stole the win from Mark in 2007, but this year I really think Mark may have a shot at winning it especially with him racing for team Hendrick.
Mark, a 35-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race winner and the all-time leader in NASCAR Nationwide Series victories, has signed a two-year agreement to drive for Hendrick Motorsports beginning in 2009.
Mark will race the full 2009 Sprint Cup schedule in the No. 5 Kellogg’s/CARQUEST Chevrolets, becoming teammates with Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. It will mark his first full season of Cup competition since 2006, when he finished ninth in points.
I sure would like to see Martin win the championship this year whether or not he wins Daytona.
I would like to see the 43 car in Victory Lane again too.
Man I was pulling for him to get around Kyle yesterday in the duel, but Kyle just kept blocking up the track, forcing Mark up. Now if it's that same scenario in the 500, Martin ought to just turn him around, he had the car to beat Kyle.
So what? the 500 is what matters, not the stupid duels. As long as Mark can stay in the front of the pack, he will be good.
