As part of my All Star project in 4H I did a class at the high school tailored specifically for young girls who wanted to know more about cars, but were too afraid to take an auto class.

I believe there are MANY girls/women who would love to learn more about cars, but it can be really intimidating being in a class or shop with all males.

I was always under the impression that guys would like a girl who knew their stuff about cars/mechanics...until I had multiple guys tell me they 'couldn't date a girl who knew more about cars than they did'. It was emasculating, I suppose.

Hmm I wonder how Vincent Gambini delt with that...

'Cause Chevy didn't make a 327 in '55, the 327 didn't come out till '62. And it wasn't offered in the Bel Air with a four-barrel carb till '64. However, in 1964, the correct ignition timing would be four degrees before top-dead-center.

I'm female and love cars. My new daily driver (if I will ever use it as that) is a six speed r/t challenger. I had someone on here say that I was a cougar trying to get younger men with it (I'm not even anywhere old enough to be a cougar by a few decades but that's not the point). I had some huge insults saying I was a lesbian (I'm married) and all this other bs. There are some men who really have a problem with women having "guy" cars. And, there are guys who think it is great that you drive the car but just assume it's not yours.
