Again you're not understanding. I am back with the flow of traffic in front of me way before getting to the light because I didn't have to set back off from a stop. If you were observing the driver in front of you and responding as you should then so would you. If however you are insisting on being a jerk and riding my tail while overusing your gas and brake, then of course when I set off you are not able to do the same. Your attempt to bully me into going faster than I need or want to backfires on you, and the other drivers behind you.
Jerk? Bully? Where did that come from?
Feel free to do it your way if it makes you happy.
When I'm on my way home at night driving down a rural two lane road, people ride my bumper despite that fact that there's deer EVERYWHERE, many times standing right at the edge of the road. If they want to go 70 and have a deer land in their lap they certainly can, but that doesn't appeal to me.

I hear you about the deer. I've had them run right out in front of me in my own driveway.
I never got the tailgating thing where there's deer. It's bad enough to hit one and tear up the front of your vehicle. I sure don't need someone tailgating me and taking out the rear too.
How about people in parking lots who pull out without looking? I once got into an argument with this guy who pulled out and almost hit me. He started yelling at me that I HAVE to yield and that he was going to call the police. So I put in park and suggested he do so, as people in the lane of traffic have the right of way. I was almost completely blocking the space, stopped by the line of cars in front of me and he thought I was supposed to... what? Make my car invisible?
Pardon the list format but here are my driving annoyances:
People who can't hold a steady speed on the freeway
Those who hog up the left lane
People who speed up when you try to pass them
Driving with front and/or rear fog lights on for no reason
Driving with high beams on in traffic or when they have a low beam bulb blown
Only one working brake light
Not signaling
Stopping to let pedestrians cross the street when you've got the green light
There are others but this is the list of my major pet peeves....
Agreed on the people speeding up when you try to pass them. Hmmmm....person in front of me on the Interstate is doing 60 in a 65 so I go into the passing lane and speed up to 65-70 to pass and then all of a sudden we're neck and neck - like somehow I insulted their manhood/womanhood by trying to pass them
Also - the street mobile/boy racer cars that spew smoke and sputter since the owner spent all the money on the outside bling but couldn't find a way to get their engine tuned up - or even remotely running properly!

How about this.... some tard jumps out in front of you from nowhere and causes you to slam on your brakes to keep from hitting him. It's like he is doing it on purpose to get a laugh. I've had some real close calls before. WAL-MART is terrible for this as people even bolt out the front door with a cart and never even look to see if anyone is coming. Screech...... that cart and you almost bought it numbnut! Yeah cool, lets make this guy slam on his brakes and try to get him to hit us. We need a claim and settlement so we won't need work anymore. It's a good thing I always pay attention but many do not. Never the less, I've had some damn near hit the deck before because I had trouble stopping. That'll teach ya next time to look or not to do that again! On purpose..... it has to be!
[quote=Crew Chief;15910225]ESFP, I resemble that remark... Good to hear from you again. I, too, have been stuck in the hammer lane... oops! Lately, though, one truck will pass me and swerve to make me brake, only to have the next one do the same thing. It's like that's what they're teaching in school. I get on the radio and offer to trade paint if they do it again (I really wouldn't). I expect car drivers to do unexpected things but, not a professional.
I just got back from two weeks in Germany. It was so refreshing to be surrounded by actual drivers.
- No licenses until 18 years of age.
- Prior to testing for the license, 19 hours of in-car with licensed instruction.
- License costs about $1500.
- Everyone - everyone - uses their signal all the time.
- Nobody - nobody - passes on the right.
- "Blitzer" (photo) catch you running a red light? Instant license suspension, no ifs, ands or buts.
Oh yeah, and 9+ out of 10 of them drive stick. Germans are drivers. I got behind the wheel back here in Phoenix and it felt like driving in Mad Max. Clueless, arrogant animals yapping on phones, passing on right, not signaling, speeding, tailgating, running lights, the whole gamut.
Vehicle operators are not the same thing as drivers.
People who drive under the speed limit for no reason on 2 lane roads.
