to be fair, half of the cars on this poll (M-B, BMW, Lexus, Jag, Audi) are vastly superior to the other half (Lincoln, Cadillac, Infiniti, Acura), but that doesn't mean that the latter aren't capable of producing true top-notch luxury cars like the S-class and 7-series. There's just no place in the market for a $100k Lincoln yet...except I guess for those prom limos and stuff.

Just imagine an automobile that combines the elegance and first-class quality of a high-end limousine with the powerful suppleness of a sports coupe. Create a vehicle in your mind’s eye which, with an unladen weight of over 2.66 tons and the dimensions of a small transporter, achieves a maximum speed of over 350 km/h.

Conceive an ultra-high performance tire which not only copes with the aforementioned weight, the dimensions and the speed, but also makes the automobile safe, stable and
comfortable. Such a vehicle and such tires do not exist? Now they do.

MSRP:
From $1,380,000

I don't mean to be ungrateful to someone who agrees with me as to the virtues of the 560SEL. But, you know, there may have been a time when "buy American" was a conservative issue, but that is so long ago. Its now a Progressive issue. Protective tariffs, UAW made, etc. Most conservatives I know are free market proponents. If they make it better in Germany, then let's get a German car.

PS, I have five of these marvelous cars, all running and some, but not all, in mint condition: 1994 E320 Conv., 1993 300TE (wagon), and three W126 cars.

$1.38 million? "Somewhat" overpriced, I would say. And you end up with bland styling and almost no exterior chrome.

IMO, a much better choice would be a pre-'77 Cadillac Limousine. Extremely smooth ride, plenty of room inside (9-passenger capability) and lots of exterior chrome. Not to mention a choice of 21 exterior colors.

If Cadillac were still building limos, they would definitely be the flagship of the Cadillac line. In fact, start building them again, I say!

For that price, I would rather buy (and be chauffeured in a) stretch (Lincoln) Limousine.

Anyone can go on the internet and hotlink to pictures (and its even funnier when their links get broken)

and btw you may not have noticed that you copied the "MSRP: 1.38 million" when you were copying and pasting all of those images...

We are drivers on this forum, not passengers. the Audi A8 is a true Drivers Car (in line with the S-class and BMW) unlike the Maybach which lacks any of these driver amenities that you see in these pictures.

true the Maybach may one up the A8 in the passenger section, but do you really want to be a passenger your whole life? Get in the drivers seat!

P.S. I agree with Fleet, lets bring back the luxury of the 70's and let cadillac do what it did best!

Poll is weird.
Q45 is discontinued, doesn't exist anymore
RL is Acura's flagship but its a 50k car that struggles and on par with the E class not S class

Then its
S600
760
LS 600h L
A8 W12

Mercedes also offers S63 and S65 AMG cars.

You can add Jaguar XJ and Maserati Quattroporte and Porsche Panamera now
