As the title implies, what is the most impressive flagship model by a luxury automaker?

None of the above. The Mercedes W126 remains the best car ever made. The best of these is the 560SEL.

The Jaguar XJ also had to be included in the poll.

Alpina B7. More luxury and more speed than the 760Li, and yet costs less.

S550 - a flagship model? What about the S600?

Remove Acura, Infiniti, Cadillac, Lincoln and add Jaguar XJ.

It seems Cadillac has moved the CTS (V) to the flagship position. The DTS has become more of a fringe vehicle.

I voted for the Merc.

But I have to admit the VW Phaeton is really impressive. It's just most people don't want to spend a ton of money on what looks like a stretched VW Jetta.

I'm a huge audi fan, and i think the A8 is the best all-around. Best looking and nicest interior.

Cars like this ... IMO ... need to be perfect inside. Handling is nice, but interior comes first. For driving, something smaller is ideal.

If I was buying an executive car today, it would have to be the A8.

My second fav isn't on the list, but you have to consider the Maserati Quattroporte.
