- If the Mustang II wasn't called a Mustang, it would never have made this list. It was more of a branding disaster than anything else, because it certainly wasn't a bad car.
- I like this quote from the DeLorean entry: "Nothing dates the past like its impressions of the future."
- I agree completely with the inclusion of the Escalade. No car screams "I'm living it up on welfare" quite the way the 'Slade does. It's impossible to pay $61,885 for a worse vehicle.
- The 1980-5 Cadillac Seville is a strong contender, too. Did they really think that bustle back looked good? This was also the generation where we saw the 8-6-4 and the 350 ci diesel, so we have even more reason to forget this. They at least get credit for being bold, even if they made huge mistakes.
There are certainly some ugly cars in there, but some of them really aren't that bad. Honestly, this is overall probably the worst of these generally-asinine "50 ______ cars ever" lists I've seen.
- El Camino: never refer to an El Camino as ugly again - ever.
- Avalanche: I think they look cool.
- Prowler: WTF?
- New Beetle: not a "cool" looking car, but "ugly?" That's a bit harsh. It's soooo cuuuute.
- Aston Lagonda: I always thought those looked pretty mean...
- Matra-Simca Rancho: Those things were pretty cool looking IMHO, the only real drawback was that they were FWD when they should have been 4wd.

The most glaring problem with the Prowler wasn't it's styling. Hell, the styling is what brought people to the showroom. The problem was they built a hotrod car and gave it an under powered family sedan V6 engine.

Yeah, it really was quite shocking that they didn't give it the Viper 10-cyl or something like that - they could have engineered the car to fit the engine... or at least a V8 out of a Ram, or something! A non-tuned V6 from the FWD Intrepid/Concord cars, sub-120 mph top speed, 4-speed slushbox, 8-second (!!!!???) 0-60 in the '97-98 models and 6-second 0-60 in the later models??? Pathetic.
But it was a good-looking machine, IMHO.
