only because many of you are not from NY and might be interested in seeing this but also because there is a 73 Eldorado and a 73-4 Merc Comet as well as a VW in the picture
This is a shot of the Midtown Manhattan Firehouse taken in July of 1977. This is the firehouse where about 15 firefighters who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11 had worked. It was built in 1974. Tho the picture is too narrow and only shows the firehouse, the adjoining buildings and area was a dreadful seedy place for many years (drugs, prostitution, etc) but had been cleaned up in recent years and is now a decent place.
