The Pontiac Vibe is a car they could continue as a Chevy. Small hatchbacks would sell. The new Chevy Cruze has a hatchback version in Europe but not here, why? :P
Small hatchbacks don't sell in America, hence why people buy more Jettas than Golfsl. Over in Europe they love hatchs and most wouldn't be caught dead in a Jetta.
Seriously though, American consumers are very anti-hatchback on the whole. Not saying there aren't niche groups where they are popular, but overall manufacturers have a difficult time justifying the cost of carrying what amounts to another vehicle that will sell in small numbers.
Why I even read this I'll never know, could have been the wine. lol. Why is this a good thing? What made the G8 a good car to begin with? It has not been out long enough to have a good or bad reputation. GM, once again pulling strings to beat a dead horse.
Ok, we get it. You're a closed minded person who really thinks being so is a valuable goal. Yeah, don't open or read anything on cars like this anymore as you're too stubborn to actually learn anything.
Although I agree with most of what you said, I am completely against having two versions of basically the same car under two separate brand names under the same umbrella manufacturer on the same continent. A slightly different interior and different front/rear fascias do not warrant a different car and is part of the reason the big three have issues in the first place. Why would I want to pay Buick prices when I can get a Chevy version of basically the same car for less?
Because new Chevys are overpriced for their rent-a-wreck reputation...may as well get a Buick.
I've seen pictures of the Caprice police model. It looks very similar to the Impala. What a disappointment.
That's not the '11 9C1 Caprice's bodyshell I saw. I saw it at chevroletcapriceppv.com . I like the Commodore/Catera/Lumina/G8 bodyshell, not the Impala's or the Caprice's so much.
