What brand/model is it? Is it being fed into a specific display for backup camera purposes or are you adding it as part of an aftermarket double din stereo/nav?
The camera should have 2 wires, 1 ground and the other wire you will tap into your reverse light wire. When you put the car in reverse, it will give the camera power. Your monitor should plug into a 12v outlet.

I had to drill a hole in my license plate, route the wire along the inside of the bumper with zip ties and all, into the right rear tail light to hook up the wire to the reverse light. I then run the antenna into my trunk doing the same thing....works like a charm................
