I don't know about cars but a lot of people run on poop because a lot of them seem to be full of it.

Haven't been to one in a long time but from what I remember it wasn't a smelly place. Additionally if we were to be running on 'poop' it would not be the globs of brown bacteria infested digested food but rather the gas byproduct or generated electricity from burnt solids. A fueling station that pumped gas phase fuel into cars would not have any leaks in their system, there would be no fumes and any that did escape would quickly dissipate.
