Any mid to large scale demolitions I've seen in the bay area were done with explosives.

I think that's it. It depends on what type of structure they're trying to take down.

Well there a safty thing on newer cars like that when ever a car is in a rear end collusion if the rear of the car is hit hard anough the trunk automatically releases so that the rear of the car can buckle without harming any passengers in the back. It's pretty much the same thing as a air bag.. I know this I use to live next to a wreck impound lot and notice alot of the rear end collusion vehicles trunks where barley dameged. I asked the guy that worked there
