1955 Ford Fairlane
1962 Olds Cutlass (My first 4 speed)
1967 Ford Mustang
1968 Ford Ranchero (Terror on cruise nights)
1977 Dodge D-100 (Short Bed)
1986 Dodge D-50 4x4 (Chrome rollbar, big tires, the works)
1988 Dodge Caravan ES (My domestic years *shudder*)
1997 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab (My slow years)
1968 Ford Mustang (Accumulating an entire room full of trophies and award plaques...My current show car)
Might as well take it home to the now...
2008 Dodge 1500 Club Cab "Big Horn" Edition 4x4 with a HEMI (Tow package to haul that Mustang to my new "Digs" in Colorado)

Toss in there, if you want, a sandrail and a 1964 dune buggy prior to and the beginning of my "Domestic years."

Default Lots of them I guess...

But the most memorable ones that come to mind are:

1 - Sky Blue 1963 Plymouth Savoy coupe with a Max Wedge 413, dual quads on a crossram and hooked up to a Borg 4 speed with a 3.83 Dana 60 out back. (Owned from 1972-1974)

2 - Ruby Red 1964 Chrysler Windsor convert equipped with a 426 Max Wedge and the obligatory Borg 4 speed/Dana 60 combo. (Owned from 1973 - 1975)

3 - Fastest of the fast: Bronze 1965 Pontiac GTO with an all out 421 Super Duty, Doug Nash 5 speed and backed up by a 5.13 12 bolt; that little Poncho was good for 10.82 in the quarter. (Owned from 1975 - 1980)

4 - Steel Blue 1969 Chevelle SS running a 325 horse 327 and an M-22 Rock Crusher with a 3.73 10 bolt posi holding up the rear. (Owned from 1980 - 1987) Not as fast as the first 3 but a fun ride all the same.

After that the addition of wife and kids kinda relegated me to family sedans and work trucks. All that will be changing this year, though...

Ron

Here's a few of my old cars from years past with dates....

1976 Olds Cutlass 2 door t tops (1995-96)
1975 Chevy Nova 4 door (1996-97)
1981 Mercuri Capri (1997)
1978 Mercury Cougar (1997)
1981 Olds 88 2 door (1997-98)

And then eventually my 1969 Nova 2 dr (2000) my 1971 Nova 2 dr (2001) and my 1971 Chevelle 2 dr(2004) and a 1984 Regal 2 door (2005) and finally a 1987 Regal T 2 door (2007)

Nope this isn't a complete list, just a few i thought were worthy of mentioning. I've also had a few Ford trucks and a few Chevy trucks added in the mix.

I've owned a few classics, some were classics when i was driving them.

Most of my daily drivers were old when I was driving them, so I'm not sure if that counts for the purposes of this thread (cars that are old now, but were new when you were driving them). And I don't know if the oldest of the cars I had new are really old now, though the oldest of them would now be 15 years old (a '96).

My original intentions were meant towards the 1930's thru the 1970 yrs and maybe the 80's for the younger generation. A person born in 1980 could have been driving a older car when in high school.

After watching the Barrett Auction I see a big demand for the those made in the late 1950's and mid 1960's going to a certain age group. Must be a good reason.

In respect to todays standards a 15 -20 yr old car may be considered OLD by some but still there are many 30-50 yr old cars still drivable on the road or at car shows etc as shown by a couple of posters here. They understand my viewpoint am sure. We still think alike.

I know I am young, and I have not experienced the thrill of being behind the wheel of some of these amazing cars listed (I am 27). But, my dad has had some neat cars that I used to sit in the passenger seat.

He still has a 1969 Corvair, only 18,000 miles on it. He never drives it anywhere but maybe in the summer, but he washes it, waxes it, does all the maintenance. He refuses it put it in shows because he'd put mileage on it. It's white with a dark blue interior. I love the car, he let me drive it around the block last summer, how fun it was. I just wish he would drive it around more.

He also used to have a 1987 Monte Carlo LS that was really smooth to ride, as well as an old Malibu. He has a hobby of buying older cars, fixing them up, driving them, and then selling. It's a cycle that goes on every time, and my mom gets annoyed. They always have 4-5 cars at one time (they have looong driveway!). He used to have a Ford Galaxy that he misses.

I wish I lived in the 60s!!!!

In my list of cars forgot the 64 Monza (one owner) that gave me very good mileage with an Auto tranny. Old couple owned it from NEW and traded it at LONGO TOYOTA. They thought the trans was going bad having a small leak...I tightened the pan bolts and the leak stopped. My wife loved that car but when you get money hungry...you sell.

Default Todays old cars that were your daily driver yrs past

1950 Plymouth
1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner
1955 GMC pickup
1961 Buick Special
This up through the mid-70s.

Currently, I have a 1986 Toyota pickup with over 200K miles that was a daily driver until 10 months ago. Now, it's in the garage, relegated to work and hauling. Still runs great, though.
