I have a spot on the hood of my "new" MB that was obviously a blob of bird crap and which appears to have crazed the clearcoat. It feels smooth but reflects light in a pattern of crazing. I worked on it for a while today with a silicon polish/wax product and it got a little smoother but the reflection did not change. I don't want to buff it because I don't want to do the whole hood and I've found that once you start with the buffer you need to do the whole panel.
I would try some wetsanding. Maybe 1500-2000 grit to start.
Is 2000 grit gloss on clearcoat?
