My dad has always owned a Honda starting from his 78' Accord although he's owned others as alt. vehicles. I'm still driving the same Civic I got for my 16th birthday over a decade ago. I'm still partial towards getting a Honda Hybrid for my next car instead of a Prius..
Some memorable cars my family had while I was a kid were a couple 70s Eldorado convertibles, 86 Camaro, 59 El Camino, etc. I'm really into classics. I guess I generally like GM better, but Mopar and Ford just didn't have near the offerings starting in the 80s.
I guess I like Mercedes because of my dad. It was always his dream car and he has owned an s and now an sl. Before that we had pontiacs and nissans which I still think are ok but with one brand dead and the other getting weird styling wise I'm not as enamored with them as much. Would still like to have a bandit t/a, a 240 with a silvia conversion and a gtr some day.
I love Mopars growing up my dad had a 70 Charger and a 71 Cuda but sold them but now he has a 69 Gtx and 69 road runner so he made me a mopar fan I LOVE them
I wouldn't say that I'm loyal to a brand, per se, but whenever I see those old Chryslers or Plymouths that have that early 80s 'gran fury' body style (I think some of the "Fifth Avenue" models look like those, too), I think of my grandparents. They had one of those and they also used it to tow a pop-up camper!
Yeah the Fifth Ave and Diplomat were similar to the Gran Fury.
