Sounds like she has a poor taste in music, if she minds pink Floyd offensive... How hefty a ticket was it? Something smells rotten in denmark.
No kidding!
I wonder about Harleys (which I find utterly obnoxious) and leaf blowers, then. It sounds like this is an upscale area where cops pull people over for being "not upscale" or DWB (in a wealthy suburb near me, "obstructed windshield" is a common excuse) and then find a reason to write a ticket.
I am normally pro-cop but this sounds way off-base.

I don't know what the fine is, it says, I would have to call in and find out what the fine is but I am going to contest it so I am not going to waste my time... The cop did mention I can contest it by showing up to court on the date...
Depending on the state, you may need to request the cop show up if you want to ask questions.
Just showing up in court with no preparation, your chances of beating the rap are slim.
Check the NMA website for a lawyer referral if you want to consider that. Offhand I think I would recommend you lawyer up, and use your own time in your own business.
Normally you need to contact the clerk of the court if you are going to appear. Normally with a citation it has the statute or ordinance you are in violation of along with a fine amount and who and what to pay it to or when you can appear in front of a judge.
Stereo noise from cars is going to be the next big revenue producer for the police, in many jurisdictions, the fines for loud car stereo noise is up to $3000 in some cities, and the standards for noise are decreasing as well. In some cities the noise level has decreased to 50 feet, and 25 feet in some cities.
Here, in Las Vegas, unknown to tourists visiting here with loud stereo's in their cars, we have a noise patrol on the Las Vegas Strip to protect the ears of our tourists. Ironic, given the music blasting from the disco's on the Strip can be heard hundreds of feet away.
Decimeters are very cheap to buy, you can buy one for under $40.
You could tell the judge "My sterio couldn't have been too loud, I heard the siren."
I'd definitely say that! How many decibels is a police siren? Something like 110.
Additionally:
1. She didn't offer to show you any evidence of the volume.
2. Note where she pulled out from. Was it within 100 feet? If she didn't note where she pulled out from, where does she claim she did?
3. Do you have any prior violations for speeding, racing, public drunkenness, anything of that nature? If not, I'd use that as proof that this was an isolated incident, and one that appears to be somewhat malicious.
4. Pink Floyd. At least it wasn't something like this:
I've gotten one of those for sure. I have just a single a JL audio 12W7 hooked up to the JL 1000/1 amp, but it's pretty killer. Problem is that I have a hatch, so while it may not seem too loud inside the car, it can actually be very loud on the outside.
I'm surprised they messed with you for playing some Pink Floyd, classic rock is not bass heavy at all. Last time I got pulled over & I was cranking this tune...
You can imagine what that would be like on a setup like mine. Cop even commented that my car sounded like a nightclub on wheels lol. Anymore I only crank it on the highway at higher speed where it's not such an issue.
