I love my 94 "green" (so they call it but it looks green/blue) Escort LX Wagon!! My first car that I just got last year - and I'm 40!!! Hey-I'm from New Yawk! I learned to drive ages ago out in Colorado Springs & always renewed my license. I've gotta be the only person who had a licence in 3 states (CO, AZ & FL) without ever owning a car! And if I had it my way, I STILL wouldn't own one! I love to WALK!!!!!!!!!!
I love my Ford though!
I also love pickups - not the newer "fancy" ones though, Lincoln Town Cars - again, not the new ones - too round, that new Honda little thing - forget the name, certain Corvettes - blue or orange, certain Mustangs...
I have strange taste in cars! I like trucks, (but not SUV's) long snobby cars, & little hatchback type things!!! ?!
My first car was a champagne 1999 Ford Contour LX. I purchased it for $5,500 with 50,000 miles on it, and it's now pushing 75,000 miles. It's currently enjoying the fresh air in my driveway, but I'm sure it will be wincing once Ernesto pelts it with wind and rain on Saturday! My poor baby!!!

1961 VW bug. Description no heat, no radio, floor rotted out, battery held in by plywood, rear seat springs popping through, a sometimes working starter and clutch "we don't need no stinkin clutches"...cost $150.00............memories.....priceless
A 1965 Ford Fairlane, two-door, dark blue. I had it during my senior year, (1979! ), and all my friends bummed rides off of me, (we lived 25 miles from school), 'cause they didn't have a car. Not only did my dad teach me how to change the oil and the tires, (he figured I should I know that, since a big, strong, he-man might not always be around to help me), he insisted I learn how to change the points! Y'all remember those? I don't think the new vehicles even have such things. And, I couldn't do it now, to save my life!

Unfortunately, my dad didn't teach me how to fix cars. I remember the time when I changed my points and cranked the car. All I got was a big POP and flame coming out the carb. My next door neighbor came over and told me that I put the points in upside down. And, I remember the time I first changed my oil, I drained the transmission fluid instead!
My first car was a YUGO. Remember those???? I ran that thing into the ground. I would pack it full of passengers (kinda like the little cars clowns pile into at the circus). One time we got 12 people into it. It was small enough that we would drive it out on the golf course trails, at night. I was in bad shape. If I got it up to 75 it would start shaking. One of the back tires was too big and would rub on the fender if someone was sitting in the back or if we turned sharp. I was a cool car.

Hey, your Ford Contour looks familiar. I think it's related to my Ford Taurus! LOL
I'd like to think that they're cousins. I always envision my car "bonding" with the Ford Taurus I typically park next to in the church parking lot! LOL! (If only cars could talk!)
My first car was a 1975 Ford Maverick that I bought in 1984 for $1500. It was a good car; tough engine. It survived me running it with a water pump that had ceased to work. (What was all that banging under the hood anyway????) D'oh!
