That's why I feel the closest thing Chevy has to the Nova is the Malibu. The original Nova was the compact car. Chevy's current compact car has no real up level engine for even slightly better performance. The Cruze seems like a perfect platform for GM's 2L DI turbo engine, even with reduced compression. The next Malibu will be smaller and 4 cylinder only.

Default I liked the 73 and 74 Nova styling

especially when ordered with as many custom options as possible making it look like a personal luxury car. I liked the grilles. could you get power windows on a Nova? probably not i guess

Default remember starting in 74

you could order a Valiant or Dart with a Brougham option? I think they came with power windows and velour seats and shag carpeting

Actually I believe you could. I know when I had my 1975 Nova LN, it didn't have power windows, but it did have power locks on it. Then again I had a special 1 year edition of the Nova where it actually came in a luxury package if so desired.

I'll have to pull up the old brochures and look. But I don't believe the older models got power windows.

Default I think the Chev Concours

(which was a Chevelle deluxe wagon up to 72)which was the luxury version of the Nova may have had power locks and windows

remember how Buick's Apollo suddenly became the Skylark in 75 or 76(a trend they copied from Chrysler in slapping a larger brother's name on the smaller car)? I thought those Apollo/Skylarks were damn handsome compacts

I liked the Volare/Aspen which eventually replaced the Dart/Valiant, tho they started getting overstyled. Chrysler managed to make boxy compacts not look boring (like GM did with it's 77 downsized fullsized cars)

They're the best! I wrecked one of them in '96. Not my fault, but it still sucked!

Default New Chevy Nova?!

I am a 15 year old who loves building hot rods my dream car was always a 69 nova. I recently bought a 71 nova and am in love with it, I built a 250 that is around 420 horse power to rear wheels. I would LOVE to see Chevy bring back the Nova to compete with say like the Dodge Hellcat or the new Demon. Seeing what they have done to classic muscle cars while trying to bring them back makes me fear they would ruin it. If they kept the looks of the 69-74, went with out traction control, have a 454 or 350 option, some awesome sounding exhaust, and put big tire in back and small in front along with a pozy track rear end I really think they could have something. I want them to bring it back so bad but also look what happened to the El Camino. So if any chevy worker read this please bring it back but keep it muscle. We want the roar of a real muscle car that is heard from around the block that is feared by ricers. We want something that does not sound like the new dodges we want something loud and classic. We want the Heart Beat Of America.

Never happen in today's hispanic environment.
"Translate:Spanish - > English "NOVA" = "Does not go"

GM brought back the Impala, Malibu and the Monte Carlo. Chrysler brought back the Dart. None worked. Nova doesn't mean anything to 90% of buyers. Even at its heyday it wasn't much of a anything. They should stop looking to the past. Most of the time they ruin the name anyway.

Gm needs to rethink what they have now. Everything they have is boring minus the C7 and SS Camaro. Bring back a S10 size pickup and forget the Nova.
