I have a Passport radar detector, it works great on long flat stretches of highway, but many times cops will hide behind hills or around curves, it doesn't work so great in those situations.

I won't travel or drive w/o one.. I run Escort Solo S2's in all 4 of my vehicles.. It is not fool proof, it won't catch a radar in every situation however, when it does go off it makes you pay more attention to your speed.. If you're out on a highway in the middle of no where doing 100 mph with no one else around, then yes, your chances of getting tagged are much higher.. In my case, usually traveling down the interstates or highways with cars in front of me, my radar is picking up the signals from the cars in front of me getting tagged..

They do when cops shoot radar at the cars in front of you.

I have a cheap cobra I picked up on a black friday. Saved my but numerous times. Mainly for the bull****, drops from 45->40 or 35 zones revenue speedtraps, but the normal traffic is going ~50-55.

Also good for the highway radar camera trailers.

i think I paid $30 for it. I just sold the car I had it in, but I had a decent setup for hiding the wire. My current car its actually kind of hard. I really wish they would just sell a decent $100ish radar detector that got hard mounted into the grill or something, always powered on with ignition, and was concealed in teh dash.

I use a V-1. It has protected me dozens of times. If you get hit by a speed gun you know it and put the thing out of site.

Usually I find somone gooing really fast and then just trail behind them a little bit slower. Is it perfect? No. But it sure has kept me from getting ticketed many times
