Have you ever added water? I've heard that evaporation is an important cause of battery deterioration in areas with hot weather.

bought my 92 Tercel in Feb 1992. battery started to die when i began to set out on a trip from NY City to Birmingham Alabama in August 1998. I had a AAA shop charge it up. The car ran another month. By September it started to die again and it had to be replaced. A lube place replaced the battery. Oddly that battery lasted a little over a year before dying. the next battery lasted more than 6 years...

Maybe 30 months if I'm lucky. The summers in San Antonio are brutally hot.

Every once in a great while we'll replace an OEM battery that is 7-8 years old. But not often.

Only 3 years for me. I have not had a factory installed battery ever last more than 1 year.
