I am selling my 2002 Infinity I35, 20,000 miles(that's not a mistake, haven't driven it much). What should I reasonably expect to get for it? It does not have any major problems. Looks great, no scratches or anything. I understand that a lot depends on the condition of the car, etc - but what's the ballpark figure?
KBB has the closest to accurate I've found. Plus, people come to see a car I'm selling with the KBB paperwork printed out. Look under "Private Party". You will not get retail unless you have some amazing hard to find vehicle.
My parents had a 2001 I35. They sold it as a private party in Texas and got about 9K for it. It was in good condition but it had a lot more miles on it. Granted, I think once your car is 8-10 years old (or older) the amount of mileage starts impacting price less and less. People expect cars that old to have high miles.
Check KBB to get an idea, but also look at Autotrader or Craiglist for areas near you to get a good idea of true market price.
Thank you for your replies. I did check online resources but they were all over the place, which why I decided to ask here, in case there are people with personal experiences (bought/sold similar car) or dealers. Anyway, KBB gave me $9,600. Other sites had $5-6,000, which is a big difference. I have one person who actually offered me $5,000 which I thought was on the low side.

Well alrighty then.
I'm looking for a used truck, and finding the same thing. The price for a specific one I've found is anywhere from $14k-$22k, comparing as close as possible.

Thanks! That's very helpful. How long ago did they sell it?

If it has only 20k and is in mint condition it is probably worth 8-10k IMO. I would definitely not take 5k for it.
NADA is $10,300 so I would be looking to sell it in the 10k range.
