I'm 30 and I've had 8...way too many IMO as most of them have been fancy new or late models with high payments.
I kinda had a problem for awhile but I'm off the cars now, not even owning one or planning to own one in the near future (although I do have one I can use if needed). My next "vehicle" will be an 18 wheeler.

Wow reading your list reminded me of I car I owned for two years and forgot to include on my own list.
How do some of you go through so many cars? No judgements ... just curious. I'm on car #6 since 1975.
I like to build project cars, so a lot of the cars on my list were bought cheaply to build a particular project from (be that a custom street car, a show car, a race car, or a mix use car). Others were cars I got in trade for said project cars when I was through with them, and a small selection of them were bought cheaply with the intention to fix up and sell to make money for those project cars. It's a hobby, and cars to me are not appliances bought simply to get from point A to point B until they wear out.
I'm a car guy and a fan of all cars. I can't own them all at once, so I own them sequentially.

For myself, at one time (when I was single) it was the fact that I really like cars, and if I saw something for sale that I thought was "cool" I would buy it, drive it for awhile, then sell it and buy something else.
Today it's more the fact that I put a lot of miles on the car I drive back and forth to work every day, so rather than spend a lot of money on a car just to wear it out I'd rather buy an old car cheap that is close to being worn out, wear it the rest of the way out, and hopefully sell it for most of what I have in it and sometimes a little more. My net outlay for vehicle purchases, repair and maintenance for the last 2 years is around $750. I still have an Intrepid with a bad water pump that I will eventually scrap out for about $300, which will leave me with a net vehicle expense of $450 over two years. And my current vehicle is worth around $1000, so I think this system is working out pretty well for me.
I also occasionally find a decent car that's underpriced, drive it awhile, and sell it at a profit.
