If you want space efficiency, fuel efficiency, drivetrain reliabiity, and don't mind paying out the wazoo for German parts when necessary, then what you want is an RV based on the Dodge/Mercedes/Freightliner platform.
this!
You seem dead set on VW platform against the advice given here... Good luck. But I'd not look at a Rialta platform. If it was to be a VW... I'd get a microbus or something along those lines. Not this set.
Winnebago Rialta HD 2005 - excellent condition - priced to sell !!!!! | eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&item=14061 3963860&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_648wt_1165 - broken link)
Does it really get that good mpg of 17 to 19 mpg? That's great! But do you know of any similar sized RVs that get better mpg?
The only bad thing about the Winnebago Rialta was that it was discontinued after 2005. All other current RVs in Winnebago's website are too expensive and too big! Is there a modern equivalent to the Rialta that's currently sold?
This would make a great RV to live in if you're gonna be homeless. Lotsa homeless living in RVs in California. No property taxes to pay but you have limited possessions.
If I won the Lotto I'd get this RV unless there is something better!
This is older, but it has everything you would need including a toilet and shower. The difference is this would be reliable....

Just to be clear, I meant to say the Dodge/Mercedes/Freightliner Sprinter platform.
It does, along with full kitchen and fridge, and comes with a generator to power everything.
To the op if you are set on this particular model then go ahead and buy it as you may have no problems at all with it just be aware that the model is prone to reliability issues and its a bit overpriced.
I'd go to a few sites like Auto Trader to compare prices on similar units, and also put the question of this vehicle to a few other Rv.net forums.
If you do buy it get back to us on your experience with the vehicle.
I have a 95 Rialta and in my opinion the best year made. Makes a great disability vehicle too especially if users tend to be on the lean side.
