It's nice to see a fairly diversified and broad range of opinions here (on top of ones that simply aren't true). I'm not expecting everyone to agree one way or another but its an interesting question to present. I'm going with my plans regardless and although I share concern for the environment the impact is so minuscule that its not worth worrying about. You can yell at me when I'm bathing penguins and seagulls in oil.

A family member who is a cop told me that they can spot the wantabee race cars and watch them close because giving out tickets to them is easy .

The impact is minimal if one person shirks his social responsibility only because hundreds of millions choose not to. You're not any more special than those other hundreds of millions. There are ways to achieve substantial horsepower gains without removing cats. That's especially true of your Genesis which was specifically designed to accommodate aftermarket tuning. If you drive on public roads, keep the cat(s) on your car(s).
