Is it possible to jack your turntable to a high quality aftermarket sound system such as DLS?

Sure. Do you plan on using this while the vehicle is moving?

Why DLS?

Back in the 50's, you could buy aftermarket record players to mount under the dash of a car - I don't think they worked so well.

I doubt this would work with the car moving - you would need an inverter to run most turntables, although many turntables are actually DC, so in principle, you could avoid going to 110VAC.

This is nuts, just put your tunes on a thumb drive, burn a CD, whatever...

Maybe the OP really is a DJ and wants to play LPs through the stereo when he is stopped.

Playing LPs while the car is driven is a sure way to ruin the LP.

But to play LPs you need:

1. a headunit with an AUX input
2. an AC inverter to power the turntable
3. a phono preamp to boost the signal of the turntable to the level needed for the AUX input. The phono preamp also equalizes the signal. Without the EQ you would have no bass at all.

I'm pretty sure I've seen this done when I had the misfortune of watching a Pimp My Ride marathon. They put a whole DJ set up in the back of the guys car. One of the big Scion projects that made the cover of some magazines and was "hot" on the show circuit was built for a female DJ (attractive blonde, can't remember her name) had something more extravagent. Of course, this was only possible with the vehicle stationary.
