Those actually make sense if you are in a field of grass or stubble so it won't so easily catch fire.

Even then most stock 5.0 mustang owners never went to a full 3-inch exaust because it cost them alot of low end torque and was not worth it..

Which is why most aftermarket 5.0 flowmaster 40 series or Borla full Cat-back Exhaust kits were 2-1/2" or 2-3/4"

wrong.. In the 40's, there was NO 5-6" diameter fart cans on Japanese 4 cylinder cars.

I remember it starting in the early 90's or so.

wrong again. NO ONE had 3.5" exhaust in the 50's.. Smithys is now catering to what sells..

but it did not work. It now sounds like crap. BTW- the 650 hp GT500 and the 634 hp Zr1's have 2-2/3" pipes proving the size of the pipes make no difference when it comes to hp.

That "stack" fad has ruined dozens of trucks around here...one of the most assinine things I have seen since the lowering fad trashed so many good trucks....idiotic.

As for the fart cans...there are next to zero of them around here so the HD crowd makes up for it with their noise

Like the glasspacks tailpipes I remember from the 1970's, that guys would install on lowriders and even the really loud, raspy motorcycles seen up and down I and J streets here in Sactown.

Frank, I thought you were up to date on old time hot rod stuff.
Back in the 50's when I started driving flat head Fords ruled the day and if you had a pair of Smithy's you were the coolest guy in the school parking lot.

Yes today's "Fart Cans" are the favorite of the rice burners but it all started back in the forty's and Smithy's was one of if not the first loud glass pack and sometime steel pack muffler.

Now get your facts straight youngster.
