Pretty cool stunt....but with a tower specially built for it, couldn't any excavator do it?

Well my initial response is that the video must be pretty old, looking at the machinery, but it's a neat demonstration of the excavator (I assume they pulled the stunt to show off the hydraulic system).

Liebherr makes some great equipment, but as far as excavators go, I have to say I prefer Kato, they run incredibly quiet, and the controls are very smooth.

Hook a Kato up to a rotor tilt attachment for the bucket and you have the perfect work horse, imo.
