Ford's new Lincoln MKZ signals styling change for the brand - latimes.com (http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-autos-detroit-ford-lincoln-mkz-20120110,0,449553.story - broken link)
With a Toyota Camry badge on it, one couldn't tell the difference.
Looks like a Camry to me.
The Lincoln division of Ford really needs to get off the cookie cutter bandwagon, and introduce some bold new styling far removed from Asian and European influence.
Like the Lincolns of the past five years, this one will do nothing to boost sales.
I am betting Lincolns won't be around for the 2013 model years unless they get serious about styling.
Bob.

Only if you don't pay attention to how the car actually looks...

Except that's what people are buying.
The concept's haunches remind me somewhat of the Audi A7, which IMHO is one of the best-looking cars on the market today. It's unique enough that people will know what it is, but it's not so unique that it'll be galvanizing.

Well, Bob, let's look at the MKZ of the last five years:
The Fusion looks more expensive, and should have the Lincoln badge on it, then as a Lincoln, it may be headed in the right direction.
I see a bit of Jaguar in the front styling of the fusion.
Bob.
Looks like a Kia Avalon...Hey Lincoln, how about looking American. Find the old Continental for inspiration. You and Infiniti are constantly fighting for scraps.

Ford did a wise thing in going retro with the Mustang, and perhaps it would behoove the design team at Lincoln to take a step in retro design when designing the Lincoln.
This piece of crap they are offering is just that, a giant piece of crap that very few will look at seriously.
Bob.
I'm all for Lincoln succeeding but that MKZ looks like a chromed-out Toyota. It's not edgy or unique, it doesn't have any "wow" factor.
Lincoln needs to take a look at Cadillac and Buick for inspiration on how to revive a "dead" brand, they've both hit the nail on the head. I personally think that new Fusion looks 10X better than the "upscale" MKZ.
