Dirty diesel??? Where do you get your diesel??? If we do have electrical issues, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be WAY WAY cheaper than fixing a Prius or replacing all those batteries!!!

That's probable with dealer replaced batteries costing up to $2600 while rebuilt batteries costing as little as $500. However, VWs are known for electrical issues and very few batteries in Priuses have needed replacement. Of those which did, almost all were due to a defect that was discovered during the first 2 years and covered under warranty.
A consumer reports study showed that the Prius battery showed little or no degradation after 10 years and 200,000 miles. The myth about hybrid maintenance being expensive has been debunked.
