And what engine was in the 03-04 Cobra? 4.6 V8. Maybe you meant the 3v 4.6s weren't so great.
What had been done to your GTO?
Well the 2v and 3v's were terrible, v4 wasn't much better but the fact that they could handle a good bit of boost helped.
GTO had a 227/239 .614/.624 114+5 custom grind cam, GM L92 heads milled 0.030, Stock GM LS3 intake manifold, Pacesetter longtube headers, Corsa Sport Catback, SvedeSpeed OTR CAI, Pedders Street II suspension, Built 4L65 transmission and 3200 Vigilante Torque Converter. I swapped out to a custom 4000 FTI converter but never made it to the track before deciding to get rid of it, was hoping to see 11.2-11.3's. Had a wet nitrous kit on the car jetted for a 150rwhp shot but never got a chance to use it at the track after the heads/cam.
87-93 Fox mustangs. The cars are light, the parts are cheap and the aftermarket is larger for this model than for any other car in history. You can put together a road course killer or a 1000+ HP strip car for under $20K.
This would also apply to any 1979-93 Fox body Ford, including Fairmonts, LTDs, Thunderbirds, etc for the ultimate wolf in sheep's clothing.
My two cars to modify woud be, as I am an old guy:
1996 Buick Roadmaster Wagon.
Put in a 45O hp GM crate engine, new 4 or 5 speed auto tranny, 2.73 to 3.75 gears with a limited slip diff. Stiffer suspension bushings, stiffer progressive springs, stiffer sway bars, remote adjustable shocks, bigger 4 wheel disk power brakes, stiffen the frame where possible. Give it a good paint job, Torque Thrust Retro wheels and sticky tires. Retain the idiotic false wood on the sides.
I would use it for long distance travelling and the ocasional stop light drag.
The other would be building a Factory Five Daytona Coup. They were and still are maximally cool cars.
Diasgree. The 3V aftermarket is huge and they work great in both stock form, like my '06, and in modded form, like mine WILL be.
They are great if you want a low 14 second/high 13 second "muscle car" that is not worth modifying unless you go forced induction. I just don't get it really.

Oh. I don't drag race, so I don't give a ****e if it's only a 13 second car. it's fast enough to get me tickets in every state in the union with just a blip of the throttle pedal. And the sound of it makes me smile.
I've had fast musclecars for drag racing from Ford, Chevy, Pontiac and Dodge. I don't need every car to be the fastest, as there's ALWAYS someone faster. Oh, you have a 10 second muscle car? You just got beat by the guy with the 9 second one who thinks YOUR car is slow. On the street it's all just bench racing masturbation anyhow.
Be that as it may, the 3V 4.6s are far from ****e.
When you have to FI then you picked a car with too small an engine.
to run 10's?? Are you clueless? The Corvette ZR1 run 10's and it too has a blower..
