Yeah, my '06 GT can get pretty thirsty in town if I'm having fun with it.

Although BMW is an "Ultimate driving Machine" but it can drive your pocket more quickly as compared to other cars. Mustang GT and 335is are different but have a great performance. In recent models, ford has improved its quality and the new models are more powerful than BMW 3s.

I don't have to look. It buzzes at me that it only has 50 miles to go way more often than I'm ready for... But it's so much fun that I put up with it and try to drive the MINI for commuting more often than the Mustang. Still, days like today are nice when i commute in the 'stang and put the top down in the sun. All the concern over fuel mileage goes away and I rely more on smiles per gallon.

I just factored it into my buying decision. I knew I was going to pay a lot for gas and pay for it often.

My alternate vehicle has even worse gas mileage. So I don't have the guilt about driving the other car very often.

I also have to worry about the "look". A lot people tell me BMW is just so much more classy. :-(

Since I am not a young high school kid anymore and more a getting-old-working-professional, the "look" is sort of important too.
So let me get this straight...you want something that combines luxury and performance that is reliable and cheap to repair if something goes wrong? Out of those four items (reliable, luxurious, performance oriented, cheap parts); pick two. If you want something both luxurious and performance-minded, you're probably going to give up stellar reliability and likewise if you want something reliable and fast, you aren't going to find a whole lot of technological gadgets in it.

You're looking at around $30K for a vehicle right? Why not take a look at the Taurus SHO? It's fast, decently luxurious, easy to fix, and has been noted for being pretty damn reliable. It also has four doors which might make it more practical for daily driving.

For my money...I'd try to stretch my budget and get a used CTS-V Sedan. Even used you're talking about $45K-$50K but...they're worth every penny.

Which is why I would buy the v6 Mustang 19/31 of course all this depends who much you sink your foot into it! But as I said with 305Hp the v6 wil get up & move I believe its running the quarter mile in the mid 13's which isn't shabby at all. 0-60 5.1 Yeah gimmie a v6 I want mine in blue thank you.

I already tried suggesting an alternative... Seems to be pretty narrow minded about it.

Or maybe the OP has already narrowed it down to these 2 choices.
