Hey, If you get one (Flex) let me know. I really want to make a "casket" vehicle wrap for a Ford Flex. The Milk Carton design and embossed ridges make it PERFECT for a Casket wrap. Use a Bouquet 'Spray" of Flowers for the window area (or a 'raised lid' w/ Grandpa Munster inside)
Some gold leaf casket handles, and a Flex could be "Really Badd"
I would even do Free Advertising for a Funeral Co-op
In the meantime, I'm looking for a totaled Flex to rebuild and 'wrap'.
It might be a while. I am liking the pickup I am in now.
Well, it got a little bigger than the full sized wagons of old and is now called ..... (wait for it!) the Chevy/GMC Suburban!!
The last of the grand american large station wagons!

I will admit that the current generation of suburban's have gotten rather bloated. When I spoke of a suburban I really was referring to the suburban's as a wagon replacement to those built from 1993 to 2006. After that time the suburban just got to "fat" for me.
IMHO wagons are not accepted in the U.S., because SUVs and Pickup trucks are offered at low prices, (sometimes at lower taxes as they are considered as trucks) and gas is simply to cheap for most people to swap to a high-mileage wagon instead of a truck. In Europe e.g. roads are narrow, fuel is expensive, and wagons are widely accepted and sold.
I love high quality wagons as the BMW 5-Series, Audi A6 or the Mercedes E-Class T. They handle like sedans, my dream car would be a BMW M5 wagon or a Audi RS6 Avant wagon.
IF I would ever consider a SUV instead, it must be a real one, no crossover trash. A GMC Yukon or BWM X6 for instance.

I have a Passat B6, and am absolutely a wagon convert. There's no way I'm getting an SUV, but I'm vexed as to what to replace the Passat with in a year or two.
I still have my 1993 MB 300TE. It will cruise along the highway at 100mph quietly and very competently. Its the vehicle I made it back from downtown Boston in 11:15 (880 miles) a few years ago. It gets 22 mpg city and 26mpg on the road. One could get a used one today with 100,000 miles on it in near perfect condition for $2500-4000.
That is a great car. If I recall correctly it was still hand made, right?
I don't know if the Olds was a good choice considering they aren't around anymore. What is Cadillac's future plans for the wagon since the CTS is being replaced with the XTS? I would like to see Buick get a similar platform to the CTS.

The CTS isn't being replaced with the XTS, the XTS is just being added to the lineup as is the ATS.
Oh, I had heard they were switching the coupe and wagon to the ATS. Kind of surprising they would have both especially on the wagon with the SUV and Crossover. Hopefully the V line continues and a convertible comes out. Not sure what the X and A are supposed to stand for and I think the CTS stands for Catera Touring Sedan which kind of blows considering how bad the Catera was.
