I paid $11,000 for my 2000 Honda Civic 4 years ago and after 2 weeks of buying the car, the engine died Thankfully I have the warranty so they replaced the engine for free and had no problems since but 4 years later, the car now has:

rust
dead air conditioner
dead power charger
no bumper
dead speakers
left back door is stuck and will not open
cracked windshield

I am going car shopping for a better car next week and give the old car to my mother

I got a 70 Torino as my first car, $120 if I remember right, it was 30 years ago.

Great learning car, NO electronics at all other than the radio.

It was a rust bucket but was more winter reliable than most newer cars were.

1973 or '74 Dodge Dart Swinger. The local Chrysler dealer had been trying to sell my dad a new K-Car for about a year. The dealer knew I was looking for a car because I'd been in a couple of times browsing his back row, so when he got the Dart in on trade he offered it as a throw-in on the K-Car deal which closed the sale.
