2009-currents start at maybe 45K.

I have to disagree with you here it might not be the fastest or sleekest sport sedan out there but it's come a long way sence it's start.

I think the OP is ideally looking to spend less than $40K as they are specifically excluding any luxury nameplates from consideration.

Cam timing different to adjust for the larger ports/valves.

Extremely responsive engine once tuned I understand. sleeper.
So we're basically talking about a modified LS2 than? I was almost positive that both the G8 GT and the GTO used a version of the LS2 motor.

All the LS engines are responsive to modifications and tuning while still maintaining a record for excellent reliability.

LS2 GTOs used the same motor as the LS2 vette except for exhaust manifolds and airbox.

G8 L76 engine is the callout. Uses L92 6.2L truck heads with the LS3 intake. Heads are identical to the LS3 heads except the LS3 uses lighter valves.Modified LS2? Different block. Bore and stroke are the same.

Hyundai Genesis sedan is pretty rare or at least I've never seen more than a handful in my town.

I wouldn't buy one but it does seemingly meet the OP's criteria.
