American manufacturers in the 90s apparently were all too happy to let foreign automakers eat their lunch and were just making crap. So no American cars in the 90s are worth it (and no, I'm not a fan of Suburban Assault Vehicles aka SUV's, so I wouldn't consider one).

So we turn to imports.

In 1999 BMW made the Z3M, which I would happily buy. I saw one the other day and it is the least hair-dryer-ish of the style.

I would also buy a Mazda MX-5.

If I needed a family hauler, I'd get a minivan over an SUV, they were all the same really so I'd throw a dart at a board and pick it that way.

Another car that came out in 1999 but I would NOT buy is the new Beetle. It was a chick car back then, it still is a chick car.

I turned 18 in 2005, while I was happy with my 63 Chevy, I thoght the Chrysler 300C was cool in '05 which I got over quickly.

I also wanted a Jeep Wrangler and a Toyota Tacoma, the latter I eventually got.

The year would be 1979 for me... not exactly a great year for cars!

I would pick a Mopar muscle car but they were long gone by 1979. Many of the other Mopars were either downsized or discontinued.

So I would go with a 1979 Cadillac Fleetwood Limousine.

69 Caddy. I actually did own two of them, in the late 70's; by then they were $500 cars but the best cars I ever owned. Of course, I would need my own oil well these days....

I turned 18 in 1962 so it would have to be the Corvette. Almost bought a beauty in 1970 for $1,200 (that's what they were going for then) but that was another woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Land Rover Defender. I turned 18 the last year they sold 'em here in the U.S.; there was no way I could afford one back then. But I could afford one now!!! Damn you Land Rover!!!!
