They all use to be sold here at one time. VW, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover, and Jaguar are all sold here. FIAT and Alfa Romero are coming here via Chrysler/Dodge dealers. FIAT 500 is here right now and Alfa Romero is coming via the Dodge Dart.
Jag and Land Rover, btw, are now owned by Tata, an Indian company. Jaguar was owned by Ford for a while, but was sold during the economic recession. And, as far as your list, it appears Americans don't like the French. Peugeot, Citroen, and Renault do not sell cars in the States. As sailordave said, Fiat is recently back in the US (though they only sell the Fiat 500 coupe and cabriolet as of yet), and Alfa Romeo is expected to arrive over the next few years. On top of Alfa parts and platforms being used in the new Dodge Dart, there's been a few Alfa Mitos spotted around the Detroit area in the past year, hidden under camouflage.

over here , fiat cars are seen as affordable , comfortable but not that reliable , french cars are more reliable , comfortable but not near as reliable as volkswagon
personally speaking , i like ford at the moment , i would choose a ford focus ahead of a volkswagon golf , both of theese cars are among the top selling cars in ireland every year
peugeot, citroen, renault are the only ones from your list that are not sold in the US. The only Fiat we have is the 500, and the only Alfa is 4c which will be sold at Chrysler/Dodge dealers.

and in the US, VW is usually in the bottom half of the reliability list so no wonder ...

Both Brands are owned/operated by Tata motors which is automaker from India...they bought Range Rover and Jaguar off of Ford back in early 08 during the auto crisis so Ford could focus on it own Brand image..

And, VW's name is actually Volkswagen, NOT "Volkswagon".
Also--does Mercedes-Benz use a "Z" at the end of its "first name" in Ireland?
Unless I am greatly mistaken, in every country, it is Mercedes, NOT "Mercedez".
