Hmm... that is a very tough one. I would have to say a either a 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood 60-Special or a 1958 Chrysler Imperial 4dr hardtop. The 1958 Buick Limited 4dr hardtop and 1958 Oldsmobile 98 4dr hardtop sedan would run close seconds. Oldsmobiles are normally not the top of my favorite list with the GM cars, they are usually my least favorite, but I like the rear roofline of the big Olds sedan.

For me, it would be either...

Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine

or

Chrysler 300-E. 413 V-8 engine with dual carbs and 380 horsepower.

I forgot about the Buick.

That would be #3 on my list... a 1958 Buick Limited. Like this one...

For me it would be a '58 Impala 4 speed 315 HP tri-carb 348 with a 4:11 Posi-trac differential. Make it a convertible while we're at it. I appreciate your post on the 413! I didn't know they made the 413 in '58.

A '58 Impala? That is a good choice, too.

Re: the '58 300... that was an error. The '58 was the 300D; the '59 was the 300E.

The '58 had the last year for the original Hemi... 392-cu-in with 380 hp and 390 hp optional. The 390 hp engine had fuel injection.

The wedge 413 was in the '59 300E!

Yes that one! A beauty!

I like the '58 Impala, but it is only available as a 2dr hardtop and convertible. I like the 4dr cars. I would love a '58 Impala convertible though - loaded with all options!! I am not a fan of the 2dr hardtop '58 Impalas. My dads first car was a '58 Impala convertible!

It was clear that the Mopars had a much firmer suspension which did good in this torture test, but I wonder how they compared out on the open road? I bet the super soft suspension cars had a much more comfortable ride.

I was unable to find a good photo of a '58 Olds Ninety-Eight 4dr, but this one is a pretty good one...

This was the top of the line Buick in '58, even higher than the Roadmaster. I think this car looks even more luxurious than a Cadillac. It is a beauty!!

It does look nice. Probably has more chrome than 10 new cars combined!

I agree. I once read somewhere that the '58 Olds 98 was thought to have the most chrome ever on a car, but I think this Buick Limited may take the cake. lol.
