- Continuous loop (check).
- High-def, within reason (check: that's about as good as it gets, current state of the tech?)
Seems like there are some other interesting features, too, including GPS and other modes.
$300 each, roughly (assuming 32gb memory card, wiring, suction cup, etc.). Ain't cheap, exactly.
I drive Seattle roads daily and don't see any dumber behavior than usual, but YMMV and it's a free country.

You obviously didn't check out the link in my first post, they are all pretty much around $2x-$5x range and they all do have similar feature and equally good. They all do loop and they turn on when the ignition turns on and they start getting juice. Memory card is the only you need to purchase and technically, since they loop, you don't need a 32GB card. In most cases, a class 6 or higher 4GB-8GB card would be more than enough!

Well, that sounds very "gray area" to me, not very concrete. Digital camera microphones are typically not that sophisticated or powerful so if they can clearly pick up the audio that means you are close enough that your presence and actions will be seen/known and also it was loud enough to be captured.
Still, what people expect and what they actually legally have are often two different things. If they want total privacy, they should stay inside their vehicle or house. Otherwise it would be as ludicrous as some snob complaining about background noise while chatting on their phone in a public place.
