The Camry is said to be quieter than the Accord on the highway, if that matters to you.

Agreed. The Camry (all generations through the present) is a better highway cruiser than the Accord-- one of the best FWD midsize highway cruisers out there. The '06/07 Accord is actually pretty quiet until you get going about 60mph, then after that point it gets exponentially louder the faster you go. Wind noise isn't bad at all though, just a lot of road/tire noise. Although I forgot to mention in my last post, earlier this summer I put on brand new Michelin tires (the all season "Defender" model) which made a HUGE difference in the quietness and smoothness of the ride. Tires are important with any car, but I think with the Accord it's even more important not to cheap out on the tires.

Also, it took me a LONG time to get comfortable in the seats. I think the seats in the Camry are much more comfortable for long road trips.

The '08-'12 Accords are a completely different car than the '06 and '07 models. With the new 2013 redesign coming out this year, that means an '06 or '07 will be not just one, but two generations out of date. Once the 2013 models flood the market, expect the '06 and '07's to depreciate significantly. If you really want an '06 or '07 Accord, I would hold out until you find a good one sold by a private party, you will get screwed big time by a dealer. Accords have some of the highest retail values of any used car. It may be better a better bang for the buck to just buy a brand new Accord and keep it for the next 10 years.
I just bought an 08 and mine makes the rattling noise when bass is playing real loud. Drives me crazy. I have no problem with the seats though and I say this as a 6'4 guy with a big gut.

If we are keeping it between the three cars in the OP, I'd do the Camry. If not, then I'd just eat the premium and get an Accord. However, personally I hate the look of the 06-07s.

*UPDATE*

So I went to go buy a 07 accord with 50,000K, Alabaster Silver, black interior 4 cyl......sold as I was driving up to the dealership the car salesmen was putting new plates on it

Then the next day drove up to the same dealership to buy a 07 accord, alabaster silver, black interior, V6 which I really loved on that car. The interior of the 07 is great in my mind for a 5'5 guy, it felt very comfy. Well as we were pulling in I had to yield to the 2007 accord with the V6!!

2 cars in 2 days sold right in front of me because the dealership does not hold any cars even with money down, it's a very high volume honda store the highest in the midwest.

Then we saw a 2009 Accord, 4 cyl, 23,000 miles, dark grey color called polished metallic. Very clean car comes with alloy wheels and tinted windows...BOUGHT IT!!!

After 2 days of driving it here is my review: handles great, road noise but goes away easily when they radio is on, you can feel every bump in the road but after driving it long distances I didn't even notice. The 177HP 4 cyl is plenty of power has has great pep. Very roomy car, copious amounts of head room and while the center dash is cluttered and somewhat ugly it's actually very functional when you are driving. The seats are very comfy but other 09 accord we sat in were almost unbearable so maybe there is a slight difference in the LX-P model which we bought. The sliding center arm rest is great for me and my short arms I really like that little feature. The thick steering wheel feels almost Lexus like very comfortable and seems to be made of very good quality. Truck roomy but the opening could be larger when you fold down the seats. Something the SAAB was excellent at seats that folded completely flat and the trunk opening on my 05 saab 9-5 aero was so big I often sleep with my legs in the trunk and on the back seats that were flat.

Overall seems like a durable car, so far no rattles or creaks but I hear from previous owners they are coming. It's a fun and very comfy car to drive and I am so glad it took 3 weeks to find the right car, I know I found the right car.

Love my Honda!

You bought your car about the same mileage I bought mine a few year ago. I had bought mine at 24k miles (it is an EXL 4 cyl). Currently have close to 200k on the odometer. Good luck with the purchase.

Tip: If possible, use synthetic oil and don't skimp on the service. Oil change intervals are close to 10k but I change mine around 7-8k.

Congrats, that bodystyle looks WAY better than the '07. I'm considering one myself.

Just a suggestion for when it comes time for new tires, look for GoodYear ComforTread, they have extra padding under the tread and block out more road noise. I put them on my van and noticed a big difference.

I bought an 08 EX-L V6 in July. I previously had an 01 LX 4cyl. I for one detest the 06-07 body style. You would definitely notice that the 08 is large if you are trading in a previous year.

OP, excellent choice. May your Accord serve you well and welcome to the club. Sign up for the driveAccord forum for some kicks and free tips.
