Why do so many of you think you will have someplace to go to like a job?
They will dry up.

During a true shortage inflation will be rampant.
Plastic packaging will be a thing of the past or anything that comes from crude oil.
That job you have will dry up.
Why or how would they still be in business if there is a limited amount of fuel and why would they still have customers?

Large parts of the country still relies on electricity generated by burning fuel oil.
expect rolling blackouts, year around at best.

I'd just ride my bike to work
to what job?

Then in a year latter you would no longer get tires lube or inner-tubes as a bike takes oil also.

now if you talking short term like 3-6mo and in a small region not world wide.
then just suck it up or move, it's political or a regional disaster..

I giggle at the idea that people think they will still be able to go to work on their bicycles. Trucks, trains, planes and ships still drive this country's economy.

I know the company I work for would pretty much vanish without fuel.

Same here.

If we had to drive, we've got a Prius, and it gets very good mileage. But we wouldn't need to drive - a small shopping center is in easy walking distance ... grocery store, some fast food options, even my barber and my dentist are there. Yeah, we'd do OK.

Think about that for a second. It’s not like companies have figured out to teleport goods to people who need them. If you think your grocery stores and restaurants or going to hold the line on pricing you're sadly mistaken.

This is the joke of the current administation, clean fuel my azz. it's good to start, but fossil fuel will be around for a long time. And I don't need some liberal, who owns 5 cars, private jet, 7 bedroom house, to tell me I'm usun to much fuel

Even if you found a way to live without working, as millions have had to, how would the necessities of life get to you? Almost all goods from food to clothing, are shipped by truck.

Gas/oil/stuff like that, would be made availiable to the military first, then trains (nothing moves goods more efficiently), then trucks to move goods from the trains to the stores/shelters, and that's about it. Everyone else has to do without.
