I used Meguier's cleaner-wax on my white car. It was two years old, and I'd never waxed it. Looked great--clean, and it brought the gloss back.
I should have followed it up with a coat of something else to provide some longer lasting gloss and water beading, because after 3 months, it still looks clean, but the gloss is noticeably diminished, and water doesn't bead up like it should.
On an older white car, the cleaner wax is a good product, but for a long-lasting effect, it should be followed up with a different, longer lasting finishing product.
I have to admit, I've never used a clay bar, so i might try that next spring. (I'll skip the cleaner wax, just clay bar and then a good, long-lasting finishing wax.)
I tried Zaino. No better then any other store bought wax. Don't get all caught up in the high dollar hype. Because its just that. I have been testing wax products for 30+ years and tried am ell. Don't waste you $$ on Zaino. People that swear by it are just justifying the $50+ cost of it to others.
This is the only wax you will need. Tried em all and still like it the best.
I think it is my picture, the shine is actually really glossy and smooth. I was done at about 5pm and the sunlight/angle was not optimal (plus my photography skill is non-existent). Here is a better shot, maybe:
In any case, I am open to trying other wax/polymer that is at least as good as Zaino's shine and protection. It is not like I enjoying paying $50+

Your opinion is just that. Many thousands of car care pros and experienced hobbyists disagree with you. I don't consider my opinion to be worth a lot in this case because I realize that trying a few waxes on different cars is not a useful data set. But I do recognize that there isn't and never will be a "best" wax for everyone.
