The bushings in the front suspension of our 2006 Hyundai Sonata have been dry for some time. The car squeaks A LOT going down the road. Can these be replaced without having to replace the suspension? God bless.

Most bushings can be replaced, either with OEM quality or upgrades. If they're not damaged you may be able to spray some silicone on them to stop their squeaking.

they should be able to be replaced. i recommend going with aftermarket bushings. Almost all manufacturers on most of their cars go with softer materials when it comes to bushings. Aftermarket ones are better made and stiffer. You would be surprised at how much better the car feels when bushings and mounts are changed to better made ones.

I absolutely agree BUT many will squeak. Mine do. Some people can live with it (me) and some find it unacceptably annoying.

ive upgraded alot of the stock bushings and mounts on my car, and I get no squeek. I get a little more NVH, however, but I dont mind it. Did you properly grease them?

Most newer cars it is more cost effective to replace the entire control arm.

This.

As part of a maintenance routine I replace the front control arms and replace the sway bar bushings once my cars reach 100k miles. Makes a world of a difference. The parts house brands have all worked just fine for me, seem to be the most cost-effective. Actually an easy job for a DIY on a Saturday.

With a Hyundai you may want to check out Bap Geon as the other large-named parts stores tend to be highway robbery for control arms on imports.

You should be able to replace them but I'm not sure what the cost would be in your area and hopefully you can find a good reputable mechanic to do the work for you if that is what you want. I just had bushings replaced on my Semi and it worked out great.
