I bought a set of Duralast ceramic front brake pads from Autozone and when I opened the box, it had a strong fishy smell. Why?

Duralast ceramic brake pads are made on the same processing line in the same factory as Mrs. Paul's crunchy fish sticks. They share the same packing boxes. Wear gloves when touching them if you're alergic to peanuts.

Corrosion coatings on new pads are pH basic organic compounds, so they burn off quickly rather than become salts. Just like fish, a squirt of lemon will increase the palatability of your brake pads. Bon appetit!

Seriously, don't post if you have nothing constructive to say. I never asked for jokes. I just wanted to know the cause

Mr cant take a joke, look up what organic compounds are pH basic and you'll see most are amines, which universally possess fish odor.

Although I think it’s nice when parents let their children explore the internet you are a perfect example of why they should also keep watch to ensure they don’t do something stupid.
