Just seeing if I can get an average answer. I notice some people move over to block me (futile efforts), and some move over to give me more room. Your thoughts?
I don't do it all the time. But when I do it, I make sure the cars i do it to are not watching me. I've seen to many videos of cars trying to hit bikers for doing what they can't do.

That sounds awful. If they aren't watching you they can't maneuver around you in case of an accident.

It depends on how bad traffic is. I wont do a whole line of cars. If there are two cars riding side by side I will do it. But like I said, I don't do it all the time. I tend to stay away from traffic and ride in the mountains.
Pisses me off because the last thing I would want to do is hit a biker on the freeway. If I know you are there no problem at all. It is when you are going a 100 mph hour and blow between me and another car that I get rattled and pissed off. I probably never saw you coming.
It scares the crap out of me. But but I am more aware of it, since our son rides. I always try and move over to give the bike enough room, especially if I'm in the truck. Problem is, I see so many close calls. Either the car is not aware of them or the bike is cutting it really close. Between handlebars and large mirrors, I really wonder how often they collide.

I lived in CA 40 years and was used to it, but it's scary when you go to change lanes and suddenly a bike appears. Lots of close calls on the Nimitz freeway.
It's one of the times I wish I had lights, siren and a badge.
Wouldn't do much. It's permissible here in CA.
