The Forte would be nice if only the hatchback existed. Which it doesn't.
Sure it does.

Same here.

I see sedans as potential hatchbacks with the prime hauling space hacked off.
An astute analysis. The sedan is clearly an inferior product when there's no practical downside to a hatchback design.

A hatchback can do everything a sedan can, and more.
The more part is exactly why I've always preferred them, and why own one today!

I had owned a long line of hatchbacks and never appreciated them until I bought a WRX sedan a number of years back. I chose the sedan because I thought it looked better.

Then I realized just how convenient having a hatchback was! All the stuff they swallowed!

I would not want to be without some sort of hatchback vehicle in the family again.

They have discovered we are giving our young boys water loaded with estrogen because so many women are on the pill and they only absorb 10% of the estrogen in the pill. The rest ends up in our water. . 16 years of heavy doses of estrogen and of course guys want to drive hatchbacks.
Pickup trucks are for men in the teeny peeny club. If God didn't give ya a good one, at least you can buy a big truck and feel more manly.

I've got the Forte 2.4L Hatchback with the sport package and love it. Went from my '83 Porche to the Kia when I heard Audi's Peter Schreyer had designed it. I was tired of driving a stick in heavy stop and go traffic having to shift every few seconds.

The performance, handling, parkability, turning radius, hidden storage, expandability, and load of conveniently placed features impressed me as compared to others cars that were affordable. The reason you don't see them at the dealers is because they can't get ahold of them. It helped that the sales rep appreciated a woman who knew about cars as opposed to some places where I was never even approached after multiple visits.

There is a wide range between the emotional and rational appeal of a car. We all make our own decisions combining the 2 factors when making choices. It's different for all of us. I am perfectly happy driving my 5 year old Odyssey; it's still pretty new to me. I tow our pop-up camper with it and can haul samples for my office furniture career. Much lower loading height than an SUV. I've owned sedans I liked (My 1 year old Legend was the best) wagons I've liked, hatchbacks I've liked and vans I've liked. I can see myself in a truck or SUV one day or in a sports car. Maybe I'll have both. Right now in my life, the Ody drives good enough and serves its purpose. I learned long ago to be careful about being lured too much by the emotional appeal of a car. It is (usually) a depreciating asset/mode of transportation and although it reflects my current lifestyle and sensibilities, it does not define "who I am". And if I ever find myself single again and girlfriend spurns my car, then I know she is not right for me
